This downtown San Jose project, just minutes from San Jose State University, was completed in under five months. The scope included a full renovation of the main home—categorized by the city as a Modern Craftsman style—as well as the ground-up construction of a detached ADU in the backyard. The ADU required its own permit, making this a two-permit build.
Our client, a seasoned property investor with over fifty rentals across California and Texas, came to us through a referral and was thrilled with the result. He’s even encouraged us to expand into Texas—though we haven’t made that leap just yet.
While construction went smoothly, the downtown location presented some logistical challenges. Deliveries often required street closure permits for trucks, cranes, and equipment, especially with the nearby university adding to traffic. Despite a few delays with the city, the project wrapped up successfully and on schedule.
